ANORECTAL MANOMETRY

Manometry is measuring the pressure inside different parts of gastrointestinal tract, by entering a catheter with transducers. These transducers will travel through the mouth or anus into the lumen of the particular organ which needs to be investigated.

This procedure is usually carried out to diagnose various GI motility disorders and can be used in sites including esophagus, stomach, duodenum, sphincter of Oddi, and rectum.
